Community InvolvementThe Olson Financial Group and our district network offices are committed to helping our local communities through participation in a number of events and organizations. New Jersey SEEDS Our Fairfield branch office has been involved with New Jersey SEEDS for over ten years. They are the key sponsors of an annual golf tournament held in June, in addition to many fund-raisers held each year. New Jersey SEEDS (Scholars, Educators, Excellence, Dedication, Success) is a privately funded, state-wide, non-profit organization committed to educating future leaders from a wide variety of backgrounds. Walk to Cure Diabetes Why is a cure for diabetes so important?
The money raised from a “walk to cure diabetes” enables JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) to fund research that will lead to cures for millions of people with diabetes – a large percentage of them children. JDRF funds more research than any other diabetes organization and is structured on a business-world model that efficiently and effectively directs resources to research aimed at finding cures as soon as possible. U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots For the sixth consecutive year, employees of The Olson Financial Group Network Office in Summit, NJ have generously donated to the US Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program for needy children at Christmas. First Sergeant William E. Meisinger of the G Company, 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines in Dover, NJ, and Associate Financial Representative and Toys for Tots Coordinator Debbie O´Keefe worked together to deliver over 150 toys to children in our area. The Olson Financial Group has an 11-year tradition of breast cancer research by participating in Lee National Denim Day – a tradition that fits in with their values of doing what’s right and being active in the community. By donating $5 to the cause, network office members were able to wear jeans to work one Friday in October. Managing Partner Eric S. Olson, CLU, was appointed in the summer of 2008 and has brought his own leadership style to the office, while supporting the office’s traditions and values. Olson supported continuing the event and encouraged members to participate by wearing jeans himself. Above, Olson (back, center) is pictured with his team. Through shared values and celebrating past traditions, the team looks ahead to a strong 2009.
